Foosball rules
Best of 3 · 2v2 · Scored in-app. House rules may apply—venue always wins on table-specific calls.
1. Match format
- Best of three games. First side to win two games wins the match.
- 2v2 by default: two players per rod set (one offense, one defense) unless the venue runs singles on that table.
- Start sides and first serve by coin flip, lag ball, or venue habit—log the result in BarSport when the match is created.
2. Scoring & possession
- A goal counts when the ball enters the opponent's goal legally from live play.
- After a goal, the scored-on side serves the next ball from the center dot.
- If the ball leaves the table or becomes stuck with no forward progress, resume with a neutral serve or corner placement per venue house rules.
3. Fair play (typical bar limits)
- No spinning: rods may not complete a full 360° before or during contact with the ball.
- No jarring / lifting: don't slam the table or lift the ball with the man.
- 5-bar pass rule (optional): some venues require the ball to touch the wall or another figure after leaving the 5-bar before a shot on goal—ask staff if unsure.
4. BarSport layer
- Join the table queue via the venue QR; confirm when your match is called (30-second window where the venue uses it).
- Final score and disputes follow the match handshake & dispute flow in the full rules of engagement.
- Elo and history update only after both sides (or venue override) lock the result in the app.
