The ladder does not reset

Every confirmed result moves an Elo number that belongs to the player, not the bar. Beat someone above you and you take rating off them; lose to someone below you and you hand it over.

How a rating moves

Elo starts at 1200. The swing depends on the gap between the two players: beating someone rated far above you pays out, beating someone far below you barely registers.

Why it can't be gamed

A result only counts once both players confirm it on their own devices. Disagree and the match freezes until it's resolved — nobody queues anywhere until it is.

Per-sport ratings

Foosball and darts carry separate ratings. Being untouchable at the table earns you nothing at the board.
